Carruades de lafite Pauillac 2004

이날의 하일라이트. 강건하다고 해야하나… 열리기 까지 시간은 걸리나 절제된 조화라고 해야 하나…. 좋은 와인은 바로 이런 느낌. !!
- 샤토 라피트 로쉴드(Chateau Lafite Rothschild, 그랑크뤼 1등급)의 세컨 라벨
- 포도품종: 카베르네 소비뇽, 메를로, 카베르네 프랑
- 1855년 메독 지구의 등급 구분 당시에 그랑 크뤼 1등급중에서도 필두를 차지한 것이    바로 샤토 라피트 로쉴드이다. 세컨 라벨인 카뤼아드 드 라피트의 경우에도 재배에서   양조까지의 전 과정이 퍼스트 라벨과 동일하게 유지되고 있으나, 단지 차이라면 사용된    포도의 수령이 좀 더 어리다는 점 정도이다.  WA : 90
Slightly heady and chocolaty on the nose, ripe. No fruit coming through. Rich on the palate at first, then closed. Fruity on the finish, a little unbending.
 The Wine Advocate Lafite's second wine has become stronger over recent vintages as the selection for the grand vin has become Draconian under administrator Charles Chevalier. The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Carruades de Lafite (48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) exhibits sweet, crunchy, savory, black cherry, and raspberry fruit along with hints of road tar, spring flowers, and a touch of minerality. Give it 1-2 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 12-13. Score range: 89-90 points. Score: 90. —Robert Parker, June 2006

Collection Barons de Rothschild-Lafite 와인
In addition to the wines produced from their prestigious vineyards, the Barons de Rothschild have for many years created a range of wines which are easier to drink on a daily basis. They were called the « Réserves des Barons », as at the beginning they were destined for close friends and family. 
To perpetuate the essence of these Réserves, the Domaines Barons de Rothschild-Lafite decided to make them available in four of the biggest Bordeaux appellations: Bordeaux, Bordeaux dry white, Médoc and Pauillac. By creating this « COLLECTION », DBR-Lafite has demonstrated its determination to offer real classic Bordeaux wines for immediate pleasure.
 Saga R Pauillac is made mainly from the Domaines des Barons de Rothschild-Lafite’s own vineyards. DBR-Lafite’s technical teams vinify and age these, wines which are partly made from the young vines of the estate. The structure of the wines is less concentrated than that of the Grands Vins, allowing them to reach maturity more quickly. Nevertheless, the exceptional terroir from which they come requires them to be laid down for several months. Saga R Pauillac is only marketed once it is ready for drinking.

ㅎㅎㅎ 먼저 웃음이 나오는 와인. 브루고뉴 마시다 갑자기 익숙한 맛과 향을 보니 기뻐서리…
그라나슈는 예전에도 마실 때 참 독특했었는데 시라와의 블랜딩이 절묘했던 와인.

Description:  The Bouachon family have maintained their stewardship of some of the finest wines in the Rhone since 1898. In Les Rabassières, Maison Bouachon demonstrates its expert knowledge of the Southern Rhône Valley, in the art of grenache - syrah blending. Richness of the soil from which this vintage is produced: in the region of Plan de Dieu, the sandy and stony clay/limestone soil, coupled with the strong Mistral and a desirable sunny aspect, provide the finest terrain for these vine varieties of the Rhône to flourish. The Rabassières take their name from Rabasse that means truffle in Provencal. The wine is a blend of 2 grape varieties Grenache (70%) is at the heart of this vintage, giving it its incomparable fullness. Syrah (30%) completes the blend with its subtle aromatic notes. The two grape varieties are vinified separately. Long periods of skin fermentation (from 3 to 4 weeks) at a controlled temperature with frequent pumping over and ventilation affords the optimum extraction of the colour and aromas, the setting of the polyphenols and softening of the tannins. After blending, the wine is matured for several months in our oak casks. The wine has an intense garnet colour with shades of purple, with a highly expressive and refined bouquet, of fresh fruits (strawberry, cherry and red-current) and notes of mild spices and white pepper. Concentrated and harmonious in the mouth, this vintage shows a silky grain and an elegant finish revealing strong and persistent tannins.

테라자스 말벡과 같이 잔에 따르고 보니 바로 마셨던 프랑스 와인과는 전혀 다른 향….
바닐라향이 체리향이 먼저 올라온다. 잠시후 은은한 토스트향이 나는데 이전의 프랑스 와인이
산미가 강했던 것에 비해 이넘들은 참으로 다른 느낌이다. 거친듯 하지만 부드러운 느낌

Decanter World Wine Awards (2006) Simple style with hints of fruit, wood and gaminess. Tanninc but with some juicy fruit underneath. Good cassis. Hints of integrated smokiness.

Robert Parker: The medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Malbec Reserva has a sweet, spicy, blackberry and grape-scented nose. It is medium-bodied, boasts a velvety texture, and is loaded with flavor. Assorted dark fruits and roasted spices can be found in its personality. Although the finish is short and firm, this wine delivers copious amounts of fruit. This is a good value. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
Wine Spectator: Big, with flashy coconut and vanilla toast leading the way for ripe blackberry, fig and mocha flavors. Nearly heady, but with lots of suave, creamy fruit on the finish. Drink now through 2006. 26,000 cases made.

이스까이와 비교해 봤다.  말벡의 강건함 보다 좀더 부드러운 탄닌과 바닐라와 카라멜향이 너무나도 좋았지만 이스까이에 비하면 좀더 내공을 쌓아야 할 넘… 그래도 가격대 성능비로는
아주 좋은 와인!!!
